KATE'S BUTTERSCOTCH WALNUT BARS 
CRUST:

1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. light brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, cut in pieces

TOPPING:

1/4 c. light corn syrup
6 oz. pkg. butterscotch bits
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. water
2 c. chopped walnuts
Pinch of salt

Combine ingredients for crust. Mix until it resembles coarse meal. Spread evenly in greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Press lightly. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes. Remove to wire rack while preparing topping. Combine all ingredients except nuts in double boiler. Stir until butterscotch bits are melted. Quickly stir in nuts working quickly, drop spoonfuls on crust to within 1/2 inch of edge. (During baking topping will run toward edges. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Cut while still warm.
