1 c. butter or Crisco
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
3 c. plain flour
Pinch of salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon
1 c. milk

Beat first 3 ingredients then add the others and beat well. Bake in three 9 inch pans at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
