ORIENTAL SWEET & SOUR WITH
VEGETABLES
 
1 med. onion, diced lg.

Mix together the following and add to above vegetables: 1 c. pineapple juice 6 tbsp. tomato puree 1 to 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1 can drained pineapple tidbits

Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with small amount of water, add to mixture, heat until thickened.

Steam or saute approximately 3 cups of vegetables: sliced carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, broccoli flowerettes, (any combination of your favorite vegetables), add 1 can of sliced water chestnuts. One cup peanuts or cashews could also be added.

Add vegetables to Oriental sauce and serve hot over cooked brown rice.
