FRESH PEAR CRUNCH | |
6 med. pears 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 c. flour 1/2 c. packed brown sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 6 tbsp. shortening Peel pears; cut into halves. Arrange in baking dish. Mix sugar, 1 cup water and cinnamon in bowl. Pour over pears. Mix flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and shortening in bowl until crumbly. Sprinkle over pears. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until pears are tender and top is golden brown. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream. |
