FRESH APPLE BREAD 
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. sour milk
3 c. finely chopped apples
1/2 c. chopped nuts

TOPPING:

3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs, beat well, then add flour, salt and vanilla. Mix well. Add baking soda dissolved in sour milk. Mix. Add chopped apples and nuts. Mix well. Fill 2 loaf pans, sprinkle on topping (butter, flour, sugar and cinnamon mixed well). Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Serve plain or buttered.

To sour milk, add 1 teaspoon vinegar.
