HOT GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
4 slices bacon
1 pkg. scalloped potatoes mix
3 c. water
3-4 tbsp. vinegar
1 hard cooked egg

Empty potatoes and mix in skillet, stir in water. Heat to boiling. Cover and simmer 25 minutes. Stir occasionally. Stir in vinegar, oil, and bacon (fried until crumbly), and 3 tablespoons of reserved bacon drippings and egg.
