PEANUT BUTTER OATMEAL CRUNCHIES 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. creamy or crunchy peanut butter
3 eggs
1/4 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted all purpose flour
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
3 1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. quick cooking oats
Variations: 2 c. raisins, chopped nuts, chocolate chips, coconut

Cream together sugar, shortening, and peanut butter, add eggs, milk, vanilla. Mix together well. Mix sifted flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda and add to creamed mixture, mix well then stir in oats and any of the variations. Drop from teaspoon on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or lightly brown. Cool before removing from sheet. Makes about 6 to 7 dozen.
