BAKED STEW | |
2 lbs. lean beef, cut into pieces 2 c. onion, diced 2 c. potatoes, quartered 2 c. carrots, chunked 2 c. celery, cut lg. 1 can sliced mushrooms 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. sugar 3 c. V-8 juice Place all ingredients in order given in roaster or Dutch oven with tight fitting lid. Bake at 250 degrees for 5 hours. When done gravy is thick and brown. Stew may be cooked on top burner on low heat in a very heavy roaster. |
