OATMEAL-CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
3/4 c. Crisco
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 bag chocolate chips
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
3 c. oatmeal (sm. flakes)

Cream sugars and shortening. Add egg, water, and vanilla; beat. Sift together flour, salt and baking soda. Add to mixture and stir by hand. Stir in oats by hand. Add chocolate chips.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drop cookies onto greased sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.
