OLD FASHIONED STACK FRUITCAKE 
2 eggs
2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. Crisco
1 c. milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. each soda, nutmeg and cinnamon
2 c. dried apples, prunes or applesauce

Cook fruit and set aside to cool. Mash fruit or run through colander. Cream sugar and shortening. Add other ingredients. Pour into mixing bowl about 5 cups of flour as you would for making biscuits. Divide into balls. Roll each ball to fit into a well - greased round iron skillet (large). Bake at 350 degrees until brown. Set aside to cool. When cool, spread fruit between layers. Allow to stand for 12 hours.
