OLD FASHIONED RICE PUDDING 
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1 qt. milk
1/2 c. sugar, I use brown
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. seedless raisins or sliced dates, grated rind of 1/2 lemon may be
used with white sugar mix)

Put all ingredients except raisins in a baking dish. Bake uncovered in a very slow oven (250 to 300) for 2 to 3 hours. Stir the pudding occasionally with a fork during the first hour of baking. Add raisins and continue cooking. Serve warm or cold with cream, with stewed fruit, or with sweetened fresh fruit.

Serves 4.
