STONE JAR MOLASSES COOKIES | |
1 c. molasses 1/2 c. shortening 2 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 3/4 tsp. baking powder 1 1/2 tsp. ginger Heat molasses to boiling point. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients. Chill dough. Roll out very thin (1/16 inch). Cut into desired shapes. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake until set. (Overbaking gives them a bitter taste). Bake at 350 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes. Makes 6 dozen cookies. |
