DATE NUT LOAF 
1 lb. dates, chopped
1 lb. chopped walnuts
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients twice, then sift over fruit and nuts. Add beaten egg yolks. Add stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla. Grease and flour pans. (Use one loaf pan or three small ones.) Bake 1 hour at 275 degrees.
