ONE LOAF OATMEAL BREAD 
3/4 c. boiling water
1/2 c. rolled oats
1/3 c. shortening
1/4 c. molasses
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1 egg
2 3/4 c. sifted flour (could use whole wheat flour or a combination)

Mix yeast and lukewarm water. Allow to dissolve. Stir together boiling water, molasses, rolled oats, shortening and salt together. Cool; when lukewarm stir the yeast mixture into this. Beat egg slightly and add to mixture. Beat egg slightly and add to mixture. Beat with spoon. Gradually add flour, mixing well. Place sticky mixture in a lightly greased bowl. Cover and raise in refrigerator 2 hours. Remove and shape into loaf and place in well greased bread tin. Cover and allow to rise 2 hours. Bake at 305 degrees for 1 hour.
