HAMBURGER OATMEAL LOAF 
1 c. oatmeal
1 can V8 juice
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 c. finely chopped onions
1/4 c. finely chopped green pepper
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 or 4 slices bacon (optional)
Chopped parsley leaf
1 lg. egg
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried sage, basil, or oregano
1/4 c. ketchup

Mix oats and vegetable juice together and let stand 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, except ketchup and bacon. Mix together thoroughly. Put into a 9 inch loaf pan. Bake 45 minutes. Spread with ketchup and top with partially cooked bacon. Bake 10 or 15 minutes longer. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing. Bake at 350 degrees.
