CRISPY OAT COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. regular oats, uncooked
1 c. crushed corn flakes
1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter, gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add egg and beat well. Add oil and vanilla and mix well.

Combine flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats and remaining ingredients. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and flatten each ball with tines of fork. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from cookie sheet and cool. Yield 10 dozen.
