CARDAMOM BALLS
1/2 c. soft butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. heavy cream
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. crushed or powdered cardamom
1 egg, beaten

Cream butter and sugar until light, then add egg, beating until thick. Stir in cream. Sift flour with baking powder and salt and add, with cardamom, to creamed mixture, mixing until stiff dough forms. Chill.

Shape chilled dough into balls, about 1 inch, and arrange on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden. Cookies may be brushed with egg before baking to give shiny glaze. Makes about 4 dozen.
