MEAT LOAF PUFF | |
1 egg, beaten 3/4 c. milk 1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 1/2 tsp. salt Dash of pepper 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 2 tomatoes, peeled & sliced 6 slices cheese 3 eggs, separated 3/4 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt & pepper 8 oz. sour cream In a large bowl combine 1 beaten egg and milk. Stir in bread crumbs, onion, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and pepper. Add ground beef and mix well. Pat meat mixture into 8"x8" baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Drain off excess fat. Arrange tomato slices on top of meat loaf. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover with cheese slices. Beat egg whites to soft peaks; set aside. In small bowl combine sour cream., flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper. Add egg yolks and beat until smooth. Fold in beaten egg whites and pour over top of cheese slices. Return to oven and bake 30 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting. |
