GERMAN SKILLET DINNER 
1 tbsp. butter
1 (14 oz.) can sauerkraut with liquid
2/3 c. uncooked rice
1 med. chopped onion
1 lb. ground beef chuck
1 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 pt. tomato sauce, juice, or puree

In a large covered skillet, melt the butter. Spread sauerkraut over melted butter; sprinkle rice over sauerkraut, then add chopped onion. Top with crumbled ground chuck, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Cook covered on low heat for 30 minutes or until rice is tender. Serve from skillet.

Amounts of individual ingredients may be varied according to personal taste. A quick, easy, tasty dish.
