BARBECUED BOLOGNA | |
4 lbs. unsliced bologna (Jewish) 1/4 c. butter Juice of 1 lemon 1/2 c. chili sauce 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce Score the bologna on all sides. Place it in a baking dish and cover the bologna with the sauce. Bake for 3 hours at 250 degrees; baste every now and then to prevent from drying. TO SERVE: Remove the bologna from the baking dish to a serving dish. Make sure you take all the barbecue sauce with it. Place the serving dish on a hot tray. Slice or cube a small amount of the bologna to start it, then leave the knife and fork with the bologna and allow each guest to serve himself. Have some party rye bread slices on the side to serve with it. I also serve some cheese along side of it, then the guest can make a sandwich of both. I went to a cocktail party many years ago and the Hostess served this wonderful bologna. No one wanted dinner, they only ate the bologna. If you want to have a good party I suggest when having a large crowd you serve this. Also along side of it slices of party rye and a hunk of Swiss cheese and a dish of mustard. Fabulous! |
