HAWAIIAN BANANA BREAD 
1 1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. solid vegetable shortening
2 fully ripe medium bananas
2 eggs

Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Whirl remaining ingredients into blender to form an emulsion. Add to dry ingredients and mix just until moist. Spoon into a lightly buttered and floured 9 inch square pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. To make without blender, add dry ingredients to shortening and cut in as for pie crust. Puree bananas and add well beaten eggs. Proceed as directed.
