RED VELVET CAKE 
9 oz. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 1/2 c. cake flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/3 tsp. salt
1 oz. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
5 tsp. red food coloring

Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time and beat after each addition. Sift flour, soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa together; add 1/2 at a time with buttermilk to the creamed mixture, then add vanilla and food coloring. Stir well and pour into three 9-inch greased and floured cake pans.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.

Cream Frosting:

1 lb. confectioners sugar
1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. whipping cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Put all ingredients in mixing bowl and whip until fluffy. Spread on cooled cake.
