JOYCE'S DUTCH APPLE PIE 
PIE:

2 tsp. lemon juice
2/3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
3 lbs. apples (approximately 6 c.)
1 unbaked pie shell

Mix first 6 ingredients. Peel and slice apples into mixture. Stir after each addition to keep apples from turning brown. Spoon apples into unbaked pie shell, leaving juice at bottom of bowl. If more apples are needed, peel and slice into reserved liquid. When pie shell is filled, pour all liquid into pie shell.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. butter

Mix all ingredients. Cut with fork to get started or mix by hand. Sprinkle topping over apples. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Reduce heat to 375 degrees. Bake for 35 minutes.
