PUNCH BOWL CAKE 
1 regular-size cake, cut into medium-size pieces
2 large boxes vanilla instant pudding
2 cans cherry pie filling
2 large cans crushed pineapple, well drained
1 qt. frozen whole strawberries, thawed and drained
1 can mandarin oranges, drained
2 bananas, cut into small pieces
1 large Cool Whip
1 c. chopped nuts
coconut (optional)
few maraschino cherries (for decoration)

You also need 1 large punch bowl.

Mix pudding according to package. Set aside. In punch bowl, crumble half of cake in bowl. Layer pineapple, pie filling, 1/2 package coconut (if used), layer of strawberries, layer of oranges, bananas and nuts, then 1/2 of pudding, then layer of Cool Whip. Repeat layers, ending with Cool Whip. On top, place cherries and nuts. Refrigerate.

Note: Can halve recipe for smaller size.
