1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. sour milk
3 tbsp. cherry juice
1 short tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
1 chocolate square
16 cherries, cut up

Mix together sugar, shortening, egg, milk and cherry juice. Add flour, soda and salt. Last mix in the chocolate and cherries. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 40 minutes.
