BLONDE BROWNIES 
1/4 c. butter, shortening or oil
1 c. light brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. walnuts (or 1/2 c. coconut)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter, stir in sugar until blended, cool. Stir in egg. Stir in dry ingredients. Mix in vanilla and walnuts, spread in well greased 8x8x2 inch pan. Bake 25 minutes. Do not overbake. Cut warm.
