BUTTERNUT LAYER CAKE | |
1 c. shortening 2 c. sugar 4 eggs 2 1/2 c. sifted plain flour 1/2 c. sifted self-rising flour 1 c. milk 1 tbsp. butternut flavoring Cream shortening, sugar and eggs with mixer on high speed for 10 minutes. Add 1 cup flour, beat 1 minute on 3rd speed. Add rest of flour and milk. Beat for 1 minute on 3rd speed. Add flavoring and mix well. Bake in 3 greased 9 inch cake pans for 30 minutes in 350 degree oven. FROSTING: 1 stick butter 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 box confectioners' sugar 1 c. chopped pecans 1 tbsp. butternut flavoring |
