1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 c. flour
1 c. applesauce
1 egg
1 c. nuts
1 c. raisins
1 c. dates
1 c. cherries
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice

Cream together sugar, butter, egg, and applesauce. Add sifted flour and spices. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda with 1/2 cup warm water. Bake at 350 degrees in two loaf pans or bundt pan. This can freeze well.
