LEMON KRINKLE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. shredded lemon rind or 2 tsp. lemon extract
Sugar

Cream shortening and sugar; beat in eggs, one at a time; add lemon flavoring. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into creamed mixture. Chill dough. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls and roll in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
