MOLASSES KRINKLES 
3/4 c. soft shortening
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
Granulated sugar for dipping

In large mixing bowl, mix thoroughly the shortening, brown sugar, egg and molasses. In separate bowl sift together the flour, soda, salt and spices. Stir dry ingredients into molasses mixture gradually adding a small amount at a time. When dough is well mixed, cover and chill for several hours. Roll into 1 inch balls and dip tops in granulated sugar and place on greased cookie sheet, sugared side up, about 3 inches apart. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees.
