BROILED GRAPEFRUIT
2 large grapefruit
1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup grenadine syrup

Cut each grapefruit in half, crosswise. Pick out the seeds and cut out the core. Then, with a sharp knife, cut around each section to loosen the flesh from the membrane and skin. Sprinkle each half with brown sugar and butter. Finally, spoon some grenadine over each half. Place on a baking sheet and broil in a preheated broiler, under a moderate heat, about 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve at once for dessert or as a first course.
