OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oats
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

BROILED FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. evaporated milk
2/3 c. nuts
1 1/2 c. coconut

CAKE: Pour boiling water over oats and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy. Add sugars, beat until fluffy. Stir in vanilla and eggs. Stir in oats. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamy mix. Mix well. Pour into 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes.

FROSTING: Mix all ingredients together. Spread on cake when it comes out of the oven. Place cake under broiler until frosting is bubbly.
