PORTUGUESE SOUP 
1 c. chopped onion
3 cloves garlic
1/2 lb. smoked sausage, cut in bite size pieces
2 cans beef broth
2 cans water
1 c. catsup
1 can pork and beans or kidney beans
1/2 head chopped cabbage
6 peeled and chopped potatoes

Saute onion, garlic, and sausage. Add remaining ingredients and cook for 30 to 45 minutes.
