PORTUGUESE SOUP 
1 lb. smoked sausage, bite-size
2 c. onion, chopped
10 c. beef stock (homemade or bought)
1 head green cabbage, chopped
1/2 c. cider vinegar
4 potatoes
1/4 c. oil
6 garlic cloves
1 c. kidney beans
2 c. ketchup
Salt & pepper to taste

Saute sausage in oil in soup kettle. Add onion and garlic to sausage; cook until translucent. Combine with all other ingredients and simmer for 45 minutes.
