ORANGE NUT BREAD | |
1 med. orange 1 c. raisins 2 tbsp. melted Crisco 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg, beaten 2 scant cup flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. chopped nuts Pour juice into a measuring cup and fill with boiling water to make one cup of liquid. Put orange rind, pulp and raisins through food chopper Add diluted orange juice. Stir in shortening, vanilla and egg. Add flour, salt, baking powder, soda and sugar. Beat well and add nuts. Bake in greased 1 pound loaf pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
