RED HOT SALAD 
1 c. applesauce
3 1/2 tbsp. cinnamon red hot candies
1/4 c. sugar
1 env. Knox gelatin
1/4 c. cold water
3 tbsp. lemon juice

Soften gelatin in water and lemon juice. Heat applesauce, red hots, and sugar in top of double boiler, 12 to 15 minutes. Remove top of double boiler. Add gelatin mixture and stir thoroughly. Pour into small mold or pan. Chill. May be cut into hearts or flowers with cookie cutter. Serves 4 generously.
