FUNNEL CAKE 
Vegetable oil
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk
2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder
Powdered sugar
Molasses or pancake syrup

1. Heat oil (2") to 375 degrees in 12" skillet or 3 quart saucepan. Beat remaining ingredients except powdered sugar and molasses until smooth.

2. Holding finger over end of funnel, pour 1/2 cup batter into funnel. Drip batter, controlling flow with finger, into hot oil, swirling it into circles from center out. Fry until light brown, about 2 minutes on each side. Drain; keep warm. Repeat with remaining batter. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with molasses.
