FATHER LOU'S APPLE PIE | |
8 medium Granny Smith apples 1 1/2 c. light brown sugar 1/4 c. flour 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. melted butter 1 tsp. vanilla Double pie crust Peel and slice apples; mix well with sugar, flour, cinnamon, butter, and vanilla. Let mixture stand 1 hour. Line a deep 10 inch pie plate with crust. Pour in apple mixture. Cover with top crust. Press together at edge of pan. Make holes in top crust with a fork or knife. Sprinkle with a little sugar and cinnamon, if desired. Bake at 375 degrees for 55 minutes. (Lay a piece of foil at the bottom of oven in case it cooks over.) |
