FRUIT CAKE 
1/2 dozen eggs
1/2 lb. butter
1 heaping c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. grape wine
3 c. flour (3/4 tsp. baking powder if plain flour is used)
2 lbs. seedless raisins
1 pkg. seedless dates
1/2 lb. candied cherries (red or green)
1 glass grape jelly
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 lb. shelled nuts (pecans, English walnuts)
1 c. black walnuts
1 sm. can crushed pineapple
Juice of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 orange
1/2 c. applesauce
8 oz. mixed fruit

Beat sugar and eggs together. Work in melted butter. Add pineapple, grape jelly, wine, orange juice and lemon juice. Sift spices with flour and put in cut up fruit. Mix. Put into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 300 degrees until it tests done.
