BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
5 eggs
1/4 c. Crisco
3 1/2 c. plain flour
1 lb. plus 1 c. light brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Preheat oven to 325°F. Cream together butter and Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time. Add brown sugar. Sift flour and baking powder. Add to other mixture, alternating with milk.

Bake at 325°F in greased and floured tube pan for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.

Frosting:

1 stick butter
1 c. pecans
1 box xxx sugar
milk (to thin)

Toast pecans in butter in oven until they brown. Mix all other ingredients. Add pecans to top of cake and drip some down sides of cake.
