GINGERED PEAR MOLD (JOYS OF
JELLO, PAGE 45)
 
1 can pear halves
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
3 oz. pkg. lime Jello
2 tbsp. sugar
Dash salt
1 c. boiling water

Drain pears, measuring syrup. Add water to make 1 cup if necessary. Arrange pear halves in bottom dish. Add 1 tablespoon sugar and ginger to 1/4 cup of pear syrup; pour over pears. Set aside. Dissolve Jello, 2 tablespoons sugar and salt in boiling water. Add 3/4 cup pear syrup. Chill until very thick. Pour over pear halves. Chill until firm. Garnish with sour cream and cherries if desired.
