MOM'S TUNA NOODLE CASSEROLE | |
16 oz. med. noodles, uncooked 4 tbsp. butter 12 oz. white or light tuna, drained 8 oz. mushrooms, fresh or canned, drained 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 c. milk 3 tbsp. onion, chopped 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs Partially cook noodles in salted water until barely becoming tender, not more than 15 minutes; rinse and drain well. Melt butter in 4 quart casserole dish; mix other ingredients separately, except noodles and crumbs. Put cooked noodles in baking dish and toss to distribute melted butter. Pour tuna mixture over noodles; fold in lightly and top with bread crumbs. Bake, uncovered 40 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees until bubbly and lightly browned; serve hot. Serves 8. |
