CHILI CON CARNE - WITH A DIFFERENCE | |
1 lb. course ground beef 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 green pepper, chopped 1 (#2) can kidney beans (20 oz.) 1 (#2) can crushed tomatoes (20 oz.) 1/2 can condensed tomato soup 1 1/2 tbsp. chili powder 1 tsp. basil 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. sugar 1 tbsp. flour 3 tbsp. water Brown meat, onions, garlic, and peppers. Add beans, salt, basil, salt, and soup. Mix chili powder, flour, sugar, and water to make a paste; stir into pot slowly. Bring to a boil and simmer 45 minutes. Makes 8 (8 ounce) servings. |
