RUM AND RAISIN SAUCE FOR
HOLIDAYS
 
1 1/2 c. rum
1/2 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. fresh grated lemon peel
1 tbsp. fresh grated orange peel
1/2 c. pecan pieces

Pour rum over raisins and let set until raisins are puffed, several hours. Mix sugar, water, cinnamon and boil 2 minutes. Add raisins and rum. Cook 5 minutes. Add vanilla. Remove from heat; add lemon and orange peels and nuts. Serve warm over pound cake or ice cream.
