HOT RUM SAUCE 
1/3 c. butter
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
6 oz. evaporated milk
1/4 c. dark Karo syrup
3 tbsp. hot water
1 tbsp. rum extract or 1/8 c. dark rum

Melt butter; remove from fire. Add sugar, milk, and syrup. Mix. Add hot water. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add rum or extract. Serve hot with fruit cake, mince pie, ice cream, etc.
