STICKY BUNS 
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
1/2 c. sugar
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
3 beaten eggs

Scald (do not boil) milk and remove from heat. Add shortening, sugar and salt. COOL TO TEPID!!!! Add yeast; sprinkle on liquid and then stir in. Add eggs, then flour (1/2 or more of flour can go in with electric beater and the rest with a wooden spoon). Mix till smooth, knead lightly and set in warm spot covered until doubled. Punch down; roll into oblong on floured surface. Spread with butter and sprinkle with brown sugar (cinnamon, if desired). Roll lengthwise and cut into 1/2 inch slices. Place in pans on top of syrup mixture. Let set in warm spot, covered, until doubled. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Turn upside down immediately and let pan set for a minute for syrup to drain.

SYRUP:

1 c. melted butter
2 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. water
1 c. pecans or walnuts (if desired)
