PRALINES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 c. pecans, chopped
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook first 4 ingredients until creamy brown soft ball (236 degrees). Add nuts, butter and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Drop by tablespoonfuls on waxed paper.
