CONGO SQUARES 
2 2/3 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1 lb. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 c. broken nuts
1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together and set aside. Melt shortening in saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and allow to cool slightly. Beat in 1 egg at a time. Add flour mixture, nuts, and chocolate morsels. Batter will be thick. Pour into greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Bake as you would for brownies. Don't over bake.
