PAT'S CARAMEL BARS 
44 caramels
6 tbsp. milk
1 c. flour
1 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts

Melt the caramels with milk. Combine flour, oatmeal, sugar, baking soda, salt and butter. Press 1 cup mixture into a buttered 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Remove from oven, sprinkle on top chocolate chips and nuts. Pour caramel over top. Sprinkle on the rest of flour mixture and bake 10 to 15 minutes more.
