MICROWAVE TOFFEE 
1 pkg. slivered almonds
1 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
4 oz. chocolate (milk or semi-sweet)

Spread almonds into square greased pan. Into large microwave proof bowl put sugar, butter, water and salt. Microwave on high for approximately 10 minutes. Keep an eye on mixture; it will triple in volume and may burn if cooked too long, should turn light brown. Spread cooked mixture over almonds.

While this cools, melt chocolate then spread over hardened mixture. Freeze to set, then break into pieces. Store in tin can.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
